Students present virtual holiday concerts

Although our holiday celebrations looked different this year, I hope that you found time to relax, reconnect, and recharge. 2020 certainly had its setbacks and difficulties. However, it challenged us to find new ways to stay connected and new ways to share our music. It is my pleasure to share with you our holiday performances!

Each ensemble chose how they wanted to share their work this semester. Students from Symphonic Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra chose to come into school for a socially-distanced recording session similar to those being conducted in professional orchestras across the country. At the link below you’ll find their performance of “Christmas Quatrain” and “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

Our Chamber Orchestra and Camerata students collaborated on a virtual orchestra performance of “Inverno” from Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘ The Four Seasons’. Each student created individual recordings with a click track, which were then assembled digitally into a final product.

I am so proud of each of the students for the work that they have put in to make these performances possible and share their talents. It is truly a joy to work with such dedicated young musicians.
