Spring Concert Wrap-Up

Another spring concert is in the books! Fantastic performances from all four orchestras, our senior ensemble, and our senior showcase of the Moszkowski Suite for Two Violins and Piano. It's always bittersweet to say goodbye to our seniors as they prepare to graduate. For me, the highlight of the performance was the "Elegy" by Lee Holdridge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmvr9UAwhOA). As a director, it's always a consideration of how you want to end the concert. What do you want the audience to feel?Inspired? Pensive? Energetic? An "elegy" is defined as a "poem of serious reflection," and I think that was the general feeling of the audience at the end - reflecting on the journey of our nineteen graduates from the Class of 2019, and everything they have accomplished and the exciting journeys ahead of them.
